How to implement linux firewall redundancy?

I am running iptables on Linux Fedora Core4. I would like to implement statefull failover for the setup, please can anyone provide me with detailed steps on how to implement the above mentioned requirement, is it possible to implement heartbeat with ct_sync to acheive the requirement, if yes please can you provide me the detailed steps.

Thanks,

Hello and welcome to LQ.

Note LQ doesn't do "urgent". LQ is a volunteer-driven community effort relying on its members to supply answers when they can, not when *you* want it. Considering you don't pay for LQ you may not expect anything. If you want 24/7/* dedicated realtime response capability please consider hiring a local GNU/Linux guru.

You mean http://svn.netfilter.org/cgi-bin/vie...ME?view=markup doesn't give you those steps?

Incidentally, if you're looking for "redundant firewall," start by putting a router which has a built-in firewall at the front door of your network. They're usually quite good.
