Question how-to: domain or realm authentication in linux

Hi,

I have about 30 Linux servers here and it is quite cumbersome to change root password or update user account on all servers everytime there's a personnel change. (all staff btw, will need access to all servers.)

Is there a way to use only a single passwd file or something like it for all the servers? Something like what Active Directory / Damain Controller does in Windows.

Thanks.

NIS+ or LDAP will do what you want, NIS+ is easier to setup IMHO. but both work.

http://www.linux-nis.org/nis-howto/HOWTO/

that is some info on NIS+
