how to disable?


iam using slackware9.1 when i run netstat -a i see the ff:

Active Internet connections (servers and established)
Proto Recv-Q Send-Q Local Address Foreign Address State
tcp 0 0 *:submission *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *op3 *:* LISTEN
tcp 0 0 *:smtp *:* LISTEN
Active UNIX domain sockets (servers and established)
Proto RefCnt Flags Type State I-Node Path
unix 6 [ ] DGRAM 823 /dev/log
unix 2 [ ACC ] STREAM LISTENING 876 /dev/gpmctl
unix 2 [ ] DGRAM 864
unix 2 [ ] DGRAM 862
unix 2 [ ] DGRAM 855
unix 2 [ ] DGRAM 826

i want to disable submission.... i think i dont needed it?
how do i disable???

1st you might want to try 'netstat -tupan' to see listening services.

then you can lsof|grep submission to see what open files there are associated with it *remember, in unix, everything is a file*

check your logfiles and see how it is started, also if there is an init script in somewhere like /etc/init.d starting it.
