How To Configure A Vpn? ...


SORRY I HAVE TO CONFIGURE A VPN ...
i am newbe in vpn ...

if you have configured one.. can you tellme your experiences and a tutorial for begining ..

i use slackware 10.0

the vpn will transmit simple files..

well I have a VERY basic how-to for poptop VPN server here

I havn't really used it for a while and it is writtern for Fedora but i'm sure it will work fine in slackware.

What kind of clients were you looking at using? windows 9x? 2K? xp? linux?

Sorry only a question...

poptop can allow windows clients?????

and other question... in the proces of installing poptop is it necesary compile the kernel... this is because i never had been compiled one...

you shouldn't have to complie a kernal ...

to go

control panel/network connections/

then click on 'creat a new connecion'

choose next and select 'connect to the network at my workplace' and hit next now choose, 'virtual private network' and fill in your details, that all should work, make sure your firewall isn't turn on for the test

one question more.... the client .. has to acces to internet by

modem??? because i have a CABLEMODEM conexion....

and when i finished the new network conexion.. asked me for connect to internet and then opened a dialog.. for connect by PHONE (modem)

can i make the tunnel with a cablemodem conexion that has 10.8.115.29 ip???
