Question How do I create an user to (ONLY) run processes?

I want to raise some services throwing some commands in rc.local.

I tried creating the user by hand (the installer didn't create one) but it fails to run the command (I guess I made a mistake when creating the user by hand).

Should I have created the user with adduser and then change the /etc/passwd item..... but that will create a home directory for the user... and I will use it just to run the processes, so no shell and no home are needed. How can i deal with it?

I just tried... but didn't work. Quick example:

Code:
# adduser -s /bin/false -c "prueba" usuario
# su -c "uptime" usuario
#
As you can see, there was no output. Where's my mistake?
