For network-based detection use Snort: http://www.snort.org/

Elif you like experimenting or old stuff check out:
Prelude: http://www.prelude-ids.org/
Shoki: http://shoki.sourceforge.net/
MIDAS: http://midas-nms.sourceforge.net/
Firestorm: http://www.scaramanga.co.uk/firestorm/
Defenseworx, SHADOW, Pakemon.
Please note "portsentry" is NOT an IDS but a wee simple portscan trigger.

For host-based integrity detection use Aide, Samhain or tripwire.
