John the ripper is a password cracker. It is used to find weak passwords. It can be used both by good guys and bad guys. If you type "John the Ripper" into Google you'll get links to all the documentation you'll ever need. Please note that the LQ rules significantly limit the amount of help our members can provide you with when it comes to these type of programs.
