Hacked?
I'm running Fedora at home for about 2 months.
I'm still login as root (alway keep one window open as root), but I cannot login as root from another window and to another account Also when i try run command as root su , I get the error message below: [root@localhost root]# su su: cannot set groups: Operation not permitted About two weeks ago I open firewall. Also, I know for sure that pasword for mike is 123456 [mike@localhost mike]$ su Password: su: incorrect password [mike@localhost mike]$ When I try to login got the error message. What can be wrong? |
From this I really I really don't see enough to get past a guess, but as root you should be able to set any permissions. Not sure why you would post a paswd, only you need to know that. And lastly, run as root as little as possible and never on line.

Looks to me as though you are saying that you login as root and then open a window and try to su to root. That won't work - su is to become root, if you are already root there is no point using su.
