Gparted and gnome-disk-utils discrepancy in disk size reported

https://www.dropbox.com/s/1fgx2tqugm...pancy.png?dl=0

Any ideas how to fix it if need be. Both my laptop hard drive and Backup external drive give similar results.

I am posting from public library, while zeroing my hard drive again. Can't connect to internet anyway on my router as 2nd largest ISP here seems to be having major connectivity issues. Library system is with same provider and connection speed at the moment is slower than dialup. So please understand why analysis is not possible at the moment.

| have reset my router and Android tablet - someone in neighbourhood was hacking away and setting up fake SSIDs the same as my current and previous SSIDs.

I'm not sure what the ISP problem is but it has been bad for over a week, and now cannot connect at all. It tries but shows a fault X icon on E583c modem-router. Forums users here report similar problems.

Any help with discrepancy appreciated

Marketing drivel - different number bases yield different answers - see wikipedia.

Stop reformatting your drive, there is no "problem" with it.

Thanks for replying. Optus has been down for three days in my suburb and has had outage in Vic, NSW, Qld, for two days at least. I've noticed a delay in card transactions as well. Tired of problematic service before this with them .

Yes I have a backup external drive and have saved data then deleted Linux backups. I've uploaded an image showing a phone icon in gparted display. I've never seen this before! I may be paranoid, but it seems my ufw firewall is disabled on booting and a VPN connection is setup, then spawn and other unusual stuff appears in ps aux, top. I had this phone icon in gparted dispay for hard drive as well, which was one reason I zeroed drive. I haven't zeroed backup drive - an extended partition if it helps.

Cheers

Optus is still down in my suburb and Carindale Qld. Hope to have my new ISP connection working soon. (Unlocking my new 4G router/modem). Phone icon still on newly partitioned hard drive. Unable to find any online reference to this problem. No idea what is going on. If you want to try to do some investigation please tell me what it is you want me to do. Hope to have wireless router secured and running soon.

Cheers.
