Getting Ubuntu 15.10 Live a locked screen (screensaver)

Hello, all

I'm trying to get Ubuntu 15.10 Live a locked screen. I want to do all of this through the command line, because I'm making an automagic live script. I've got the ability to set the username and the password for the it user, but I'm having trouble pinning down how to command-line activate the screensaver to lock the screen by either using a hotkey command or simply a countdown procedure. I wouldn't mind both and prefer the hotkey method.

Hello.

You can use this command to start the xscreensaver daemon in the background:

Code:
xscreensaver &
The following will lock the screen (the xscreensaver daemon must be running):

Code:
xscreensaver-command -lock
Kind regards

Philip

Not a proper alternative. I don't want to install anything.

it@it:~$ xscreensaver-command -lock
The program 'xscreensaver-command' is currently not installed. You can install it by typing:
sudo apt-get install xscreensaver

Code:
it@it:~$
it@it:~$
it@it:~$ xscreensaver-command -lock

sudo apt-get install xscreensaver

Then you should figure out which screensaver you have installed by default, and check its documentation to see if it can be used through the command line.

I see what the issue is, and I lol'd. lol, hell no. I am definitely not solving a community issue here. I am moving to Windows once I get done with my situation. I probably could find the hack, but I'm not going to. Thanks for the help. Notice, I did not give out any automagic script parts. I've already done wayyyy too much. Wily is Ubuntu's new puppy.
