forwarding x11 via thru a firewall

I set up a firewall in my RH 7.1 box using iptables, and I have port 22 opened to allow ssh access from the outside. I can use ssh to connect to the server without any problem, but I can't forward X11 from the box. Do I need to open another port to do that or do I miss something? Thanks in advance.

You have two options:

sshd can forward using encryption to the x11 port or you allow external sites to access port 6000 to 6003 directly without going through sshd, with iptables forwarding rules.

For more info on option 1.

read http://csociety.ecn.purdue.edu/~sigo...rwarding/#port

For more info on using iptables to forward to the X service read, but less secure then option 1.
