Question firewall?


i'd like to reconfigure the security level
i run the command "redhat-config-securitylevel", i make some changes but when i save and rerun the command, i found that nothing has changed.
what's the problem?
any help is apreciated

it would be more wise not to rely on automatic hardening scripts - and if you still would like to go that way I suggest trying out bastille-linux (there should be a rpm-package available for your redhat version).

also consider reading the securing redhat manual (google search)

It is a display issue. It doesn't show the current level, it shows what will be applied as a default.

Why Redhat chose to do this instead of show the current level?

Howzit

well before u run the cmd check this file output cat /etc/sysconfig/iptables -L then run the cmd u mentioned once everything has been changed then cat the same file again u will notice the changes.
