firefox under wine - any security implications?

Any issues? Can a piece of malware contracted within wine get out of the little .wine virtual c: and affect the rest of my user files?
I assume the root system itself is always safe as long as I don't run wine as root, but I am concerned about my personal data elsewhere in my ~ directory...

Not really what you're asking for but..why would you run firefox in wine when there is a native version for linux?

The Linux version of Flash 9 apparently has a flaw in it such that the Toyota website here in the US doesn't display properly.
But I have found that I can run the windows versions of both firefox and flash 9 under wine, which makes it work.
Not a great or noble reason, I know. But it keeps my wife happy!

I don't know how much of a security hole it caused, but I seem to remember that the "windows metafile vulnerability" that was discovered a year or so ago in windows was found to also exist in wine. The aim of wine is to be bug for bug compatible, and in that case the security vulnerability was also being emulated.
