Filter REMOTE_HOST and REMOTE_ADDR with Squid proxy

Hi there,

I've been exparimenting with Linux, specifically Mandrake MNF 8.2, and I have a question regarding Squid. I've done a lot of reading and have set up some HTTP header filters to see what I could "hide" while browsing. What I was wondering is if it was possible to filter out REMOTE_HOST and REMOTE_ADDR using Squid or by some other means. I can't seem to find much documentation on this specifically, other than a bunch of web sites advertising anonymous proxy servers. I would really like to configure my own anonymous proxy server just to see if I can. Using various proxy server discovery test websites, I have managed to determine that my internal IP address is hidden but my ISP IP address and host name are always present. Is this possible without the use of external anonymous proxy servers?

Thanks for your time, any suggestions are always appreciated.
