File and folder permissions not functioning properly.
 

We have a mounted a local drive (raid 0) on Redhat 9 and granted the permission for rwx on the required folders. The system was working perfectly fine in this configuration for last 2 years. Since the last couple of days, we are facing a problem. It displays the properties of folders the way we have configured them, but actually dosen't perform its operation in that manner. If we create/save any file locally or through network, it gives us permission error "could not make directory" or "access denied" error. When we reboot the system, it works fine for few mins. and then we start facing the same problem. We have already tried unmounting/mounting the specific drive, that dosen't work either.
