fat32 file access permissions

Hi, I have a fat32 volume, which has to stay fat32 (windows). I was not yet able to change the owners of files or to change permissions of any file.

Is there any way of doing this?

Let me see if I get the idea... you want to stablish particular permissions to any folder or file inside your fat32 drive? Right?

Short answer: no way of doing this. fat32 has no support for linux style permissions. Sorry chum

Is the problem that you want the permissions to be more lax?
The instructions here are for Ubuntu, but they should apply for any Linux distro (just substitute su for sudo):
