/etc/xinetd.d/ssh Question

Running RH7.1
Trying to block SSH access from everyone but my ip.

In my hosts.deny, I have ALL : ALL
In my hosts.allow, Ihave ssh : <my ip address>

... but the server still let me log in SSH with any ip address.

How is this done in RH7

This was a lot easier in RH6. I don't really understand this new method.

Thanks

Maybe i'm getting the wrong end of whatever stick i've found myself holding, but AFAIK, ssh isn't an xinetd service, it's a daemon in it's own right, and as such is configured separatley, probably under /etc/ssh/. that's where OpenSSH went from my rh71 disks...

As far as i can tell, you've simply copied another xinetd service, and changed a few words.

in.ssh would, if it existed by the ssh server, just like in.telnet is the telnet server. you could always try writing one yourself ;-)

bum.. double post.. sorry... lynx is confusing.

I deleted the original questions which is why the post above makes no sense.

Thanks for your reply acid_kewpie.
