How to configure Linux system to make it this protected from any Linux viruses? Eddie Bleasdale is pretty confident about his configuration. I know that virus-protection of Linux depends on the system configuraion. Advise about it please.
Read, young man. There's a whole lot you can do - patches, and locking things down. A lot of careful admin work. Google kevux (interesting but secure), selinux, hlfs and grsecurity

I am sorry if i sound negative, but
Why didn't you link to the actual article? You have linked to a 'teaser' page which doesn't directly link to the actual article? The idea of pushing tens or hundreds of people through this loop isn't a good one
No date is clear from the linked article; you can see from the recent security articles in silicon.com that it isn't that recent. Is,for example the competition still running? Knowing linuxsecurity, it could be 10 years old (and if it was 10 years old, and no one had claimed, that would be an interesting, but limited, piece of information).
Viruses...why is it always ***** viruses? If you looks at the SANS chart, viruses are one of a dozen categories of malware, and far from the most common one currently (and never were anywhere close to the most common one on this platform, although it may have been different on another platform). This Bleasdale individual presumably knew this when he decided to risk his dosh, but I am not sure that the wider world understands what is going on here.
