certificate authentication

Hi,

I'm thinking about using pam certificate authentication on my home linux server (mainly mail) instead of password.
I found pam_pksc11 and pam_p11. If someone has experience with either, I'd love to hear it.
I have dovecot setup to use PAM authentication, however I don't know how to begin to use it in squirrelmail or any real mail client (I mainly use kmail). Any ideas?

Thanks.

PAM certificate Authentication uses the module PAM X509 for local sessions.
For remote sessions I recommend OpenSSH native certificate features: there must be HUNDREDS of articles and pages about this.
For the PAM portion reference the PAM man pages and documentation, for local certificate authentication
reference this page and site: http://pam-x509.sourceforge.net
