Breaking College Firewall for Chatting

Hi all,

I use college lab to be online. But sad...... the administrator has now blocked those ports which have been used by the most messengers (from iptables) + blocked sites containing string *webmesse* via squid (i guess).

Is there any way to go online for chatting using msn or yahoo messenger??
please help ...

I think Linuxquestions.org will not support such activities for colleges. You can always chat from your home dude!

There certainly are ways of accomplishing that, but circumventing access restrictions imposed by your uni's network administrators is probably a bad idea and will only lead to more problems (you likely signed some form of "acceptable use policy" that could lead to account termination). Regardless, this isn't really something we condone here.
