blocking cdrom drive access and usb drive


Hello,

i have installed opensuse 11.3 linux on my system. I want to block cdrom drive access and pen drive. But printer which is connected to pc is through USB.


How to do it???

You'll probably want some custom udev rules, you can differentiate the printer from the pen drives by the block driver. Have a go at it and let us know if you need help.

@Kalidos, this sounds like it would be a really cool project. Like if someone tries to plug in a device, a UI password prompt would appear. If you type in the right password, you then would have permission to access this feature; plugining in and using devices and the CD tray. Your a genius!
