binding linuxconf port to one NIC

Hello,

I have got RH Linux6.2. This Linux box is having two network interfaces and NATing is being done. This linux being is being used as proxy server and Qmail relay agent.

Now when i scan the machine i could see is that port 98(Linux Conf ) and Port 628(Quick Mail Queueing Protocol) are accessible from outside.

Now i first thought of killing Linuxconf as service but then i may not be able to use this service which could be a trouble. What else i may be thinking is that if i could bind this service to my trusted interface only ? Is it really possible? If yes, how? Any other possible alternatives?

What kind of problem i may run into if i kill port 628? Will it affect my normal mail services?

I'm little new to all this. So please help accordingly.

Any support would be highly appreciated?

Rgds,

I hope you have all the updates in place and beefed up security?
I can't remember any RH major release more exploits where written for...

This is configurable from within Linuxconf, under networking.

Any other possible alternatives?
Configuring manually? Your rewards are more indepth knowledge and you'll be closing a known security vulnerability.
