authentification requiered on samba

Hello !
I have a directory opened by samba thru

comment = dirname
path = /hd2/dirname
username = user,user
admin users = user,user
writeable = yes
create mask = 0755
force create mode = 0755
force group = group
force directory mode = 0755
guest ok = yes

is it possible not to start windows client for identification?
so that everybody can connect to this directory and read but does not need to have the windowsclient-identification?
because we use a novell client.

Nope. I am pretty sure you need Micro$oft network files installed on the client. SAMBA is a Mircosoft Network compatibility suite, not a Novell compatibility suite.

I think Caldera (www.caldera.com) has some sort of a Novell server implementation for Linux... If I am not mistaken. I know they have a client for sure. Might want to check out their web site.
