Arrh security!!!


Hey all long time since i posted here,

well thats cause i have gotten used to redhat and want something more challenging, so i just isntalled slackware today, all went fine.

But i want to knwo how i can stop services running, A sweep with nmap tells me that among others I have ftp and ssh open...

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

before i get rooted j/k

Try searching the database before posting. Someone just asked the same question 20 min ago . If someone answers him correctly, just follow up, he also uses slack

I believe it was "stop servicename"
without the quotes, and replace servicename with the name of the service you want to stop.
