Smile Allow upgrade to root after login ssh

I am runnning Trustix 3.0, I have installed and configured, well almost configured , openssh. I am using public key authentication with no password option.

Once I login as a 'user' I would like to be able to switch to 'root', I am however not able to do this.

I can access as all the users I have set up keys for, but can not elevate my status once logged in. How can I do this?

Thanks for any help in advance.......

This used to be controlled by a flag in either inetd or xinetd but I don't know if this still exists

Look at your /var/log/messages file you should be able to see the su root command fail and from there work out whats failing to work

Have had a quick look in the log nothing of interest in there, lots of hardware gear and the like but nothing from openssh, I will check my setup and see if I have logging enabled (or is it a defualt option).
