Question A total of 1 sites probed the server

Hi

The following line was in my logwatch e-mail today:

Code:
--------------------- httpd Begin ------------------------
A total of 1 sites probed the server
Is it really apache that detects the probe? Because I also have portsentry running.

Apache logs

The email post does not give you a lot of information about what it was that probed the site. For better information you can go to (under Ubuntu and some other flavors of linux) ~/var/log/apache2 and look at access.log which will give you a running account of IP address and which files were accessed. Error.log can also be found there as well as all of the archived logs from past days.
