'Add Security Exception' message. Is it an attack?
Hi all,
When I have Thunderbird open, I keep getting a message saying that I am about to override identity of a site, and that the certificate is coming from the wrong site. The message also says that this could be identity theft. I have just been cancelling the request to override but it keeps coming back. Any ideas about how to fix this? Matt |
The exact text of the message would help us to understand the problem.
Is the site that it talks about your email provider? Have a look at this web site which I found using Google. http://kb.mozillazine.org/Security_E...ficate_Expired |

Hi and thanks for your reply.
I've attached a screenshot of the message. It relates to the server holding my email account associated with my website. The website is hosted by inmotionhosting.com. Matt |
It appears to be your email provider. As the information on the web page that I referenced suggested it is possible that your email provider has made some kind of a change in its security environment but has not yet made a new security certificate. You should call them to find out.

OK thanks for your help. I contacted the email provider and they have asked me if I have reconfigured anything, which I havn't as far as I know. I have two email accounts and they are set up differently but anyway, the problem seems to have gone, so fingers crossed.
Thanks again, Matt |
