'Add Security Exception' message. Is it an attack?

Hi all,

When I have Thunderbird open, I keep getting a message saying that I am about to override identity of a site, and that the certificate is coming from the wrong site. The message also says that this could be identity theft.

I have just been cancelling the request to override but it keeps coming back.

Any ideas about how to fix this?
Matt

The exact text of the message would help us to understand the problem.
Is the site that it talks about your email provider?

Have a look at this web site which I found using Google.

Hi and thanks for your reply.
I've attached a screenshot of the message. It relates to the server holding my email account associated with my website. The website is hosted by inmotionhosting.com.

It appears to be your email provider. As the information on the web page that I referenced suggested it is possible that your email provider has made some kind of a change in its security environment but has not yet made a new security certificate. You should call them to find out.

OK thanks for your help. I contacted the email provider and they have asked me if I have reconfigured anything, which I havn't as far as I know. I have two email accounts and they are set up differently but anyway, the problem seems to have gone, so fingers crossed.
Thanks again,
Matt
