I always use 24 hour time so there is no question of what time I want someone to be somewhere. :)

Can I ask what people are using to take their screenshots? Something in the "repository" or something from slackbuilds? Or perhaps something you just use from source?

I use GIMP, because it's always installed for me.

My latest fluxbox theme. Still working on it, though.

Daedra! Really digging that clean and simple Slackware background in the first snapshot... mind sharing that? Also, how do you get conky to show like that, where it looks like it's raised off of the wallpaper?

Conky isn't actually raised at all, its the transparent cube in compiz that makes it look like that. If you are referring to the transparent background that I use for conky you need lua support built into conky and them you can just just add a background using a lua script.

Thanks for the links, much appreciated! As for that conky instance in the first screenshot, it looks very similar to the KDE windows you have on the desktop where conky remains transparent but has a frosted transparent look. That's done with a background using lua?

Daedra 07-01-2011 06:00 PM

Correct. It's a lua script that simply draws a background around your conky config. the script itself is separate from conky, you just add a line into your .conkyrc to "link" it in. Let me know if your interested and I can post the lua script and the lua-hook line to load into your conky config.

Yes, please do!

Took this a little earlier today, I just reinstalled about two days ago, in an effort to create a super light system, as well as just to fool around, I did a custom install of slackware, leaving out kde, xfce, and all related packages, as well as firefox, thunderbird, etc, etc. Here is a picture of my pure fluxbox slackware, with urxvt, sonata, and emacs! (as you can see, I'm teaching myself how to program with python)

(I did keep my old theme, at least for now.)

EDIT:
shortly after making that post, i started work on a new theme. its not finished yet (not happy with the wallpaper or the conky), but here are some previews:
