I am a network Engineer work for a company tests food, It is a huge company with several branches all over USA, My Director is kind of in favor of UNIX, Honestly I never worked on UNIX before in my life I did study UNIX in my degree program, He asked me if I want to work on UNIX and I said sure, I configured SAMBA server I worked on SFTP server, Honestly I like UNIX more than any other operating systems. We are planning to spin up couple more UNIX servers in our environment, If I get this opportunity I will have more stuff to convince my director to switch to UNIX completely. GOOD LUCK everybody.

As a new Linux administrator, I would like to take the opportunity to collaborate with others and learn about the latest concepts and methods in open source infrastructure today. My days off fall on the 18th and 19th, and I'm currently residing in the Austin area. This is an awesome opportunity indeed!

We'll be picking a winner later today, so if you'd like to attend OSCON courtesy of LQ time is running out.

A winner has been randomly selected. I have contacted them and once I have verified they can attend I will post here. If they cannot attend, a new random selection will be made.

Thanks for making this available Jeremy!

I would not have been able to attend this year, so did not participate in the thread before now, but it would have been a prize to be sought at another time!

Congrtaulations to the lucky winner!

OScon Applicant

Hello,

My name is Drew, I am the IT administrator for a data center where I do a lot of Linux-fu. I would just like to leave this reply here for eligibility of the convention.

I am 24 years old and I am doing my best to climb the ladder very quickly. In fact, I went from "tech" to "Admin" in less than one year, and I believe OScon can help me stay on that track!

Thanks guys!

Drew
