Oracle is all over Linux, which I think is excellent. I basically owe my career to Oracle, and the fact they work on Linux as a matter of routine is a very, very good thing. Suffice it to say that Larry Ellison is a colorful figure, but you cannot deny the man's business savvy, and his mandate that Oracle must work with Linux was something that my DBA and I were totally stoked about when it came out.
My company recently switched to running Oracle on Linux, with performance improvements of approx 150%. That totally, seriously rocks, and a really good thing. Thanks for the article -- J.W.
