jpgu, trying out a couple new distributions is something I haven't done in far too long. It'll definitely happen in the near future ;)

Starting Zenwalk
I've had the the Zenwalk Linux, live CD for almost a week now. Although I am a beginner as far as programming operating systems, I do know my way aruond a circuit board. To cut to the chase I can't boot the OS and I've done all that my limited knowledge of Linux will allow me to do. I'm a 17 year old newbie and have a long way to go. I'll just write down all of the data on the problem and an e-mail link here:

Try looking at the CD in Windows Explorer; if there is just one big file, you did not do the burn right. You have to burn an iso image to a disk, not just copy the .iso file onto the disk. When it is right there will be lots of directories and files on there. Explore your burning software for "Burn an Image" or "ISO Files".
Good luck. C |

Newbie no boot
Ok I just got the zen live cd today. I have tried to install it three times with no luck. I did get through the set up, have master, swap, and all the partitions correctly. I think the problem is when it trys to install the lilo boot system. I tried doing it in auto and tried to do it maunal. No mater what when my system goes to boot up on the hard drive there is a boot error and it says mbr1 and mbr3. Will not go any further.. Any help on why the lilo boot system is not loading.. is there any way to get this to boot with out the lilo boot system??? This is my first time using linux any help would be great.. Thank you
