I'm not sure I want to go about killing anyone's OS. Apple has its devotees and I believe in freedom of choice. I just want Microsoft to quit their dirty tricks and stop behaving like Hitler!
Exactly. Speaking of dirty tricks, Baldmer threatens Linux again...
Microsft can go love its bottom caressing line because this is slamder against linux.and against the communities of those who choose Open source alternatives ovve their wallet chomping operating system. I se microsoft as a second generation SCO type minus.

Flanksteak, please refrain from using that language on these forums. I, too, have strong feelings about Microsoft's accusations, but we must take the high road.
flanksteak - I have tidied up your post. To add to what Matir said, and not to belabour the point I hope, this is a board used by people at work. While this is a very emotive issue, we need to keep calm and not use coarse language.
Finally, a Publicized Rebuttal to Ballmer's Threats
"The one story I was waiting to come from Ballmer's threats against Linux on IP grounds last week never materialized, so it is time to do it myself.
Microsoft will never document the threats because it cannot. It has no claims, no sway, and no leg to stand on. The Linux community on the other hand has shown it can track, document and prove where its code came from."
Microsoft has woken a sleeping giant...Linux will prevail...
I hope so too! Microsoft needs to be put in it's place. windows vista is uber hyped-up.
Let's hope windows vista pounds some nails in the coffin of microsoft's monopoly.
This guy says Linux infringes on IP, well lets see him prove it! BRING IT ON!!!!!
Linux shall rule the earth!

Not to be the bubble burster, but don't hold your breath. A little less MS would be nice though.

Speaking of bubbles bursting, check this out:
"The last thing a company wants to do at a keynote speech is clear a room. But that's just what Microsoft Corp. succeeded in doing during Tuesday's keynote at MIX 07 in Las Vegas."

The Redmond behemoth asserts that one reason free software is of such high quality is that it violates more than 200 of Microsoft's patents.
High quality as compared to what? Can't be Mac (based on unix and linux is based on unix), can't be Windows, we all know that sucks, but if Microsoft patent's are being infringed then it must be Windows. If it is windows then what are they afraid of? Basically they are saying that their software is just as good and Linux is a copy of theirs. Windows has the majority of the market so what are they afraid of then?
Never mind that we all know what it's really about.
Novel better re-think their deals with Microsoft me thinks.
Yes, an outstanding article. Though the entire time I was reading it I kept wondering how anyone could honestly believe we live in a free market society.
LOL Microsoft... take all the credit why don'tcha.
@Crito: Any system (within reason) has the potential to be abused. Microsoft's actions don't dictate the principles behind US economy. If anything they run against it, although I will say Gates becoming filthy stinking rich doesn't.
