Happy B-day LQ
LQ has helped me go from total Linux newb to being a Senior Linux System Administrator
Thanks LQ and everyone in it's community!!!
Same for me Great website. I've been a part of, and kicked out of, several other Linux communities (mostly drama and politics related). I stick with LQ because there's no BS. A great website which touches just about everything.
Jeremy, I my owe all my success in field of Linux to you, this forum and all its members. Whenever, I got stuck in a problem and found myself in a difficult situation, I knew that I have 'friends' in LQ who could solve my problem swiftly.
Almost would like to see some page(s), maybe an index sort of page that maybe a few could edit that held all sorts of useful items and maybe a write up like a dictionary.
For example.
dd could have tag words like bit by bit and clone and copy
Then when you mouse over it the phrase might be like command line tool used to copy blaa blaa.
It would be a place where I might go to say darn it, I sort of know what I want to tell the person, lemme look here for some tags. Oh, that is what I want.
I know that is confusing but you might get the idea.
I'm extremely proud to announce that exactly 12 years ago today I made my very first post at LQ, which served to introduce it to the web. As I've stated numerous times, since then LQ has exceeded my expectation in every way. 4,692,083 posts and nearly a half million members do not even begin to tell the story. The community and mod team that has grown here at LQ is truly amazing and something that I'm very proud to be a part of. I'd like to once again thank each and every LQ member for their participation, dedication and feedback. Without you guys, LQ quite simply wouldn't exist.
To say that feedback has been absolutely critical to our success is an understatement. With that in mind, I'd like to use this thread to collect as much feedback as possible about LQ. What are we doing well and where can we improve? What new features or sections would you like to see? What should we be doing differently? When giving your feedback, please remember that LQ will be updated to the next generation code platform in the very near future. To get a peek at what that platform will be like, please visit AndroidQuestions.org (as previously stated, the LQ color scheme will not be changing). Feedback on that site is very much welcome as well.
As part of our 12 year anniversary, we'll also be giving away some LQ Merchandise and a gratis pass for OSCON 2012. We'll also be randomly selecting posts from this thread and upgrading that member to "Contributing Member" status for one year. Stay tuned.

That's way cool!!! I chased after DOS With some regrets that I'm feeling like I'm starting Over But with a new philosophy and feeling empowered. Like when I was a youngster,
Congratulations to Jeremy, the staff and LQ on the 12th anniversary! Like many other members, I've found the solution to my Linux issues here countless times. And though I'm far from being a expert, I always try to put my two cents in whenever I can.
As for new features, I agree with towheedm that we need multi-quoting (but maybe that's already in the new, upcoming platform?)
As long as people talk to people it'll be ok. I have had the priviledge of getting help from a professor from India, a russian person, etc. etc. WOW. International forum. The Dream.
It's great to be a member of such a helpful community. I would have been totally lost without this support. I just find the login and registration processes confusing and complicated.
There also seems to be a confusing array of sites, some may be overlapping others so I don't really know which is what:
Launchpad
Ubuntu Forums
Ubuntu One
Keyring
