LinuxQuestions.org Hits Five Million Posts
I'm proud to announce that earlier today we crossed the 5,000,000 post threshold here at LQ. While a completely arbitrary milestone, it's a reminder that LQ has grown far beyond my initial expectations. I'd like to thank each and every LQ member; the site wouldn't exist without you. I'd also like to give a special thanks to all mods, both past and present; it would have been absolutely impossible for the site to grow as it has without the dedication of the mod team.
We have some interesting things planned for the future, so stay tuned. And with 999,163 threads at the moment, you can expect a very similar post from me when we hit one million threads in the near future.
I don't think I deserve congratulations for that rather unimpressive post, but thanks anyways.
And congrats and thanks to Jeremy for creating such a great forum.
Great job LQ! Thanks for having and maintaining the best Linux support site in the world, Jeremy. I'm personally so thankful for what you've done, because I didn't go to college for computer science like many of my peers, and LQ was always there for me during my learning phase. And the people that contribute here do it for the love of the Linux and are truly respectful and helpful.
Now I try and give back to the LQ community that helped me be better at linux and system administration, and allowed me to get a job that wasn't roofing or electrical work. I truly thank you for building this site and keeping it free and open to help people like myself to improve our knowledge of Linux and its software.
If I can personally help LQ continue to grow and be as awesome as it is, please let me know. I would be honored to help LQ hit the 10 million mark!
PS: And lets be honest -- give AcidKewpie and Tb0ne another year and they will make the site hit 10 million on their own! Heh.

I use google to get fast answers, but when I need to ask a tricky one, this is the just about the only forum I bother to post on.
I also hope I've managed to help a few people by passing on the valuable knowledge I've accumulated here and just using/working on *nix.
