Introducing Sinhala Linux

The Lanka Linux Users Group have created the first ever sinhala linux distribution. http://sinhala.linux.lk

Sinhala Linux, based on Knoppix, will be the first operating system in the world to include the sinhala language.

What's even better is the fact that we beat Microsoft to it. Recently Microsoft setup a base in Sri Lanka and they told us that they would add the Sinhala Language to the next version of windows.

LKLUG is now promoting Linux in three major way's:

1.) Linux now includes sinhala! :)
2.) No Viruses! ;)
3.) Freedom of choice!

p.s: ISO's of Sinhala Linux will be available soon!

vxc69: do you have a version of Linux with Tamil built in? I would like one as I live in Tamil Nadu and I cannot find a Linux version with Tamil in it yet.

Please give my suggestions at your LUG and make available your Linux for download as an ISO soon. Thanks.

Harishankar: Refer the Tamil Linux Howto http://www.tldp.org/HOWTO/Tamil-Linux-HOWTO/

edit: I also found out that there is something called Tamil Knoppix. We have it in our local distribution library ( http://os.metta.lk/cdlist.html ). Unfortunately I don't know who the authors are or whether there is a place where you can download an iso from. Sorry.
