Gratis 2008 MySQL Conference & Expo Conference Pass

I recently mentioned that LQ will be sponsoring a number of upcoming Linux and Open Source related conferences. I'm extremely happy to report that we are now able to give away a completely free conference pass to some of them. The first one is the 2008 MySQL Conference & Expo, which is a $1,199.00 value. To be eligible, simply post in this thread explaining how you work with MySQL or how you're involved in the MySQL community along with why you'd like to attend the event. We'll randomly select a winner from the eligible entries. We only have a single pass to give away, so please make sure you are able to attend the event before entering. Thanks, and good luck.

Well, Im not sure if this qualifies, as I'm not a programmer per say, but I work for a major supermarket, where last year we replaced our old database system that we use for vendor pricing with MySQL. My job is to maintain and update MySQL when necessary. It has been much easier than what we used to use, cough, Microsoft, cough. :)

gratis mysql conference & expo

I would love to attend this event. I started with mysql for a database management project as an undergrad. I then designed and built a genomic database built from data acquired from excel sheets that I imported through access >> odbc. This housed morpholino oligonucleotides for a certain biological organism. I will need to choose a good database in the next few months for a larger project. We have SQL server available of course at the company. But, I make the calls really.
I have a strong basically adequate knowledge to get the job done in MYSQL when I need to. But, I look to augment this to expertise. As we know as developers, time is extremely finite and scarce sometimes.

This expo would help me...

thanks
