Have tested it, its very nice. Have some problems with it, but some things only works to Core 4 and then.

I give it good marks. I have the 64 bit version running on a Gateway laptop and the 32 bit version on a homemade desktop with AMD Athalon processor. I find the FC5 to be more responsive to mouse clicks and launching programs. The only two things I miss from the earlier Fedoras are the more detailed options of programs to install on initial installation, and the loss of ability to right click on a Gnome Desktop and bring up a terminal console.
It's a keeper for me.

That is my least favorite part of FC5, the loss of the right click to bring up a terminal. Does anyone know how to edit the right click menu to fix that? Is that an official Gnome thing, for the new version, or is that just how FC5 handles it? Overall I like FC5, yum upgrade made the switch nice and easy.

Also, I was wondering, I dislike how the log off and shut down are on different buttons now. Is there a way to connect the stand-by, log off, and shutdown to all one button?

I've been using FC5 since a few days before it officially came out. It's fairly stable, though it's got its share of problems and instability. At least Evolution works better than the version on FC4.

I find Fedora Core 5 SHOULD have detailed options for an install though its easier and makes more sense for the aim of the fedora project but you should have a detailed option as well, conversly custom or express install in windows.

but all in all great job in the graphics

I agree. They changed the installer quite a bit - I happen to like the old version better.

The installer for FC5 is a lot prettier than FC3/4 although i had a file system issue last time i booted to FC. I love the opacity setting in the terminal. The bubbles looked pretty while 'fsck'ing...

I would want the right click -> Open terminal option , without which mouse appears totally useless in FC...

Please suggest a method to edit the right click menu...

I take it you're talking about GNOME. I believe you can enable that feature by installing a certain package. (I forgot the name, though.) On KDE, the "Open Terminal" menu item is right there.

I had the same question. I found out (from Stanton Finely - stanton-finely.net) that you can do "yum -y install nautilus-open-terminal" and it will do it once you restart. The right click terminal is something I always use so I was disappointed when the new gnome didn't use it, but now I got it back!
