This may be of great interest here, because I've seen people posting about having problems with these drives and they may want to blame Linux. Either way, it is important to all owners or future buyers that they read this:

The issues seems to be related mostly to firmware. But for sure, this may or will become a PR nightmare. I'm not sure whether I want a Seagate next time I buy, maybe I'll stick with WD.
EDIT: This holds true for most 7200.11 drives.
