BhutanLinux announced!

PRESS RELEASE:

From the tiny mountain kingdom of Bhutan comes the newest linux distribution to hit the internet. Coded by two 80-year-old monks living in one of the most holy monasteries in the country, this new version comes complete with GNOME 2.12, KDE 5, GCC 4.1, OpenOffice.org 3.0 beta and a new version of bash called bhash.
It has taken a while to complete the coding as the internet is outlawed by the king so the monks have only been able to code on marathon sessions each year when they take their pilgrimage to neighbouring Tibet. There they are able to hook up to a fat T1 pipe courtesy of his majesty, the Dalai Lhama.
BhutanLinux features the latest package management system called Yak-get. Stability has been at the forefront of this distribution from the start.

"Users will only be able to install software if they escalate to nv. This is short for nirvana and replaces superuser as the root account"

His holiness Riyard Stilmoon, chief software developer at BhutanLinux announced.

Unforunately, no website exists at the moment for the project due to aforementioned technology problems however both developers are confident that knowledge flows from their chakra points outwards and BhutanLinux will soon be topping the distrowatch charts. They have also contacted well-known Linux favourite LinuxQuestions.org in the hope that they may be included in the distribution list.

Download is possible either by meditation or yogic-flying.

Haha, nice one :D

Why didn't you submit this to bbspot?

snecklifter 04-04-2005 05:01 AM

I've never heard of bbspot. I just rattled it off on the 1st April (of course) but its only just got accepted.

Yeah, a little late on the approval, but I didn't want the work to go to waste ;)

The OS is so advance that BhutanLinux users can even run it without a table and a chair . In order to counter-balanced the immence worldwide popularity of BhutanLinux , Bill Gates shave his head and declared himself a confirmed buddhist , rename his company to OpenMicrosoft and re-release all his softwares under GPL . From thereafter , OMS Windows users start learning meditation and yogi , and pigs can fly too.

Just my random thought without changing my medication.
