I don't see how nVidia is going to compete with open ATI and Intel graphics specs. More and more people are moving to Linux without looking back, especially the case with Ubuntu. The only reason to buy nVidia cards instead of ATI cards now is FreeBSD support and I _will_ be switching to FreeBSD in the near future... God I am so lucky that the only hardware I have that is unsupported is the graphics card :D

I was under the impression AMD was releasing Open Source drivers for ATI cards not specifically Linux drivers.

These open source drivers can be compiled and manipulated for any OS including BSD and Solaris?

Wel it is open specs so everybody can make driers for what-not OS. But it still _has_ to be made. So by the time we have a nice driver it's at least one year later. And by the way... where there drivers from ATI for solaris and FreeBSD :S ? (no sarcastism)

Well, I gave the new ATI drivers a spin & I must say, I'm very impressed. Between the 50% boost with the upgrade to nexuiz 2.3 & another boost with the new ATI drivers, I feel like I just got another PC. Those benchmarks aren't lying.
