As a Newbie the poll helps to give an idea of "Start here for one we think is pretty good" so that I can get something working, and from then on have a basis to explore and compare with the lesser known projects.

It's also good to see just how popular ones own choices are.

I range all the way from dead last on some software to 1st place on others. Quite interesting!

LOL some of the programs I use are very unknown. Nice to see flux as one of the winners.

geez, since mepis had more downloads then ubuntu and knoppix, I can't believe it made neither LiveCD or Distro... Me personally, I hated ubuntu myself, but obviously there are some true Ubuntu fanatics out there...
