Zorin OS Live DVD not even getting to splash screen

The Zorin OS 10 installation should be easy, however, on my machine, I can't even reach the splash screen.

I am currently running a dual boot between Ubuntu Gnome and Windows 8.1, and when attempting to install Zorin OS 10 64-bit, through DVD and USB, I found that it didn't even reach the stage of "Install Zorin OS" at the blue splash screen which was supposed to appear.

I feel like I have tried everything.. please help!!

Did you verify the download before burning it to the DVD and what software did you use to put it on the usb? How to do an md5 checksum at the link below. The md5sum for the Zorin iso should be on their download page.
