Are there tools already in suse 9.3 to unzip files? Or do i need to download something? I'm trying to open a .tar.bz2 file. Thanks

You would be helped by reading the output of
Code:
man tar
The easy answer to your question is
Code:
tar -jxvf (filename).tar.bz2
Unlike other more popular OSes, linux usually comes with everything you need.

Peace,
