Zip Drive

:study:

What file convention does a Parallel Zip drive use? Linux is reporting my Zip size as 1.0 gig when it is really only 100 megs. Should it be
Vfat or something else? I'm hoping to clear this
up because it seems to be mounted but I can't use
it. I really want to wean myself off of Windows.
Help!!!!

zip drives

tchet,

Thanks for your reply. I will try to change the mount point as you suggest. Then I'll install the zip drive packages I downloaded from the net. Obviously, I've got a lot to learn about Linux. Once
I'm successful with the zip, I'll go to work on my CD-writer and
digital camera (USB). I hope things are well with you in Belgium.
I went to many European cities when I was in the US Navy years
ago, but I was never in Belgium. Must be a neat place to see.

Hi !!!

Well tchet is right about zip drives, they are removable drives.

Linux sees parrallel zip drives as SCSI drives and so your drive would be /dev/sda4

try to mount it and see if it responds with something like

mount vfat /dev/sda4 /zip

Zip Drives

Azael,

I'll try it a bit later tonight. I know it's just a matter of time before
I get it. I dream of the day when I can do everything in linux. This
is also the first time I've ever been in a thread so excuse me if I
don't get it exactly right. I appreciate your taking the time to write a reply. I hope you have an excellent holiday. I'll let you
know if I have any luck.
Thanks a bunch! Owen
