yumdownloader to run on different machine?
I have Fedora 10 running on my Dell Laptop at home and Fedora 9 running at Office. My Office has Fu$%ing firewall which dont let me download any pkg.Now I heard abt yumdownloader --enable <packagename> will download package instead of installing it.
Can it be performed on Fedora 10 instead and I can push it into Fedor 9 instead. The Package shud be of fedora 9 but yumloader shud have capablity to download on 10. |
If you check your .repo files you'll notice that it has all sorts of $variables. Adjusting those and using --enable=name.repo should work but you probably need to build a separate cache for F9. Manually downloading or rsync'ing with a distro mirror seems faster to me.
