YUM Repo

I am running RHEL 6.6 and I have created a YUM Server. How to I update the rpms?is it as simple as yum update? And when the rpms are updated does the update delete or overwrite the old rpm? Or does it just add the update while keeping the old one?

you contact redhat tech support about buying a "satellite" subscription plan

rhel is NOT really free
you MUST buy the required support contract to install any software not on the now out of date install dvd

or

you install the FREE!!!! clone
CentOS 6.6 or the current 7.1
or
Scientificlinux 6.6 or 7.1
