Yum problems
I come here because i feel this is a newb question but did not come up with anything in the search. Every time I try to download anything useing yum, I always get the same message saying that it can not use the mirrors. It always looks the same for updates as well.
root@localhost.localdomain[~]# yum install wine Setting up Install Process Setting up Repos livna 100% |=========================| 951 B 00:00 http://download.fedora.redhat.com/pu...ta/repomd.xml: [Errno 4] IOError: HTTP Error 404: Not Found Trying other mirror. Cannot open/read repomd.xml file for repository: updates failure: repodata/repomd.xml from updates: [Errno 256] No more mirrors to try. If there is anything you can do to help it would be greatly appericated. I am running Fedora 6 if that helps at all. Thank you again, alexm21 |
Well for starters that link is to FC3 not FC6. Beyond that support for FC6 was dropped roughly a year and a half ago. Fedora 10 is set to be released later this month. When the security of the repo keys were in question a couple of months ago a lot of repos dropped all the older versions, rather than rework them with the new key.
