Yum on whitebox3 gives IndexError


When I do a "yum list", i get this error. Anyone seen this before?


#yum list

Unable to find pid
Gathering header information file(s) from server(s)
Server: White Box Enterprise Linux 3.0 - x86_64 - Base

I haven't seen this set of messages, but when I get errors
the first thing I do is run "yum clean all" then try again.

may mean a previous version was running and wrote a pid file (/var/lock /.. ?) and then crashed, so the new invocation is trying to look for that.
Start by ensuring no copy is running, then look under /var for a relevant lock file and remove it.
