yum not working


Hello

once i updated my fedora 11 and fedora 8 using yum update.After this when i attempt to install any other thing using yum it is throwing an error that no packages marke dfor update.

what should i do to get rid of this error.

thanks in advance for any help

So which is it -- Fedora 11 or Fedora 8? Is this conversation about two machines or one? Or two installations on one machine?

And why would "no packages marked for update" constitute an error? That is normally regarded as a "good thing" (TM). As to Fedora 8, that is an obvious response from Yum, since that version has been dead for a long time now.

So ... please, more information.

It could mean no updates are available.

I am having 2 systems one with fedora 11 and one with fedora 8.
in both i am not able to use yum to install any package.

my arch=x86_64(both)

Check your network connection and configuration -- and consider upgrading the Fedora 8 system -- it's out of date.

Ordinarily a report that there are no upgrades available is not regarded as an emergency.
