Error is:

[root@Server Desktop]# yum list
Loaded plugins: refresh-packagekit, rhnplugin
This system is not registered with RHN.
RHN support will be disabled.
Error: Cannot retrieve repository metadata (repomd.xml) for repository: InstallMedia. Please verify its path and try again

You should register with RHN in order to get the packages on RED HAT.

Here is link about RHN.

If you dont want to pay for support, Start using some FREE DISTRO like CENTOS, Fedora etc.

First, PLEASE learn to be polite with people trying to help you because they are NOT paid for it.

Second, I agree with previous poster you CAN'T use official RHEL repos if you are not subscribed with RHN.

And, for what its worth, the error in bold lines is because of you still have the installation media set as the primary repo. Go into the /etc/yum.repos.d directory and delete the packageit-media.repo file.

Regards.

I'm not sure of what more explanation I can provide. Please read carefully my post #8 and if still confused, search.

Regards.

Ok, Thanks again.......

Re post #8, I'd just set 'enable=no' rather than delete it; you might want to use it one day.

PrinceCruise 02-22-2013 05:02 AM

I reckon that'll be a better idea if the OP knows what he's doing.

Regards.
